The mission of the North Kossuth Guidance Program is to teach the knowledge and skills which enable all students to acquire the academic, personal, social, and career development skills necessary to become contributing members of society.

The North Kossuth Guidance Program is an  integral part of the school's educational program and provides services to all students.  The program is based on meeting the developmental needs of students and includes skill-building in areas of need expressed by students, staff, parents and community.  These areas include, but are not limited to:  study skills, academic planning and success, identification of educational alternatives, career education, goal-setting, problem-solving and decision-making, character education, peer relationships, anger management, bullying and violence prevention, conflict resolution and mediation, communication skills, self-esteem, coping with death and loss, stress management, multi-cultural gender fair education, substance abuse, sexuality, and leadership skills.

   Guidance and Counseling Delivery Systems

 There are four delivery systems to serve students at all levels.  They are as follows: Guidance Curriculum - includes classroom and group presentations

Individual Planning - includes advisement, assessment, placement and follow-up

Responsive Services - includes individual and small group counseling, consultation and referral

System Support - includes management activities, consultations, community outreach and public relations
